YIKES. This one felt a little scary to put together.
For the record, I can recognize that I did a lot of shopping in March. I think the change in seasons put me into a bit of a “nothing to wear” panic, as did my big closet clean out a few weeks back. The result was a whole lotta shopping (and a whole lotta returns!).
I definitely don’t see myself trying a one purchase month any time soon, but I would like to be more aware of what I’m bringing into my closet. For now I’ll be tracking by plopping screenshots of items I want/purchase onto an Illustrator document by month. At the very least, it will keep me honest!

Below is what I kept this month, and overall I’m not mad at it. Many of the items are basics, have already gotten a lot of wear and did fill some legit holes in my wardrobe. Maybe I didn’t “need” three trench coats but.. I REGRET NOTHING!
1.(sadly sold out), 2. (Mango Outlet), 3. (Mango Outlet), 4. (Studio Tomboy via FarFetch).
Outerwear: When the weather finally changed I felt handicapped by my outerwear with only a denim jacket and utilitarian rain jacket to choose from. I was smiled upon (or cursed?!) by the Mango Outlet gods and purchased 3 really stellar trenches for under $150 TOTAL. The short wool jacket was the result of an internet deep dive for a “brown wool trucker” after donating a much-loathed wool shacket. I love it so so much and can’t wait to style it next fall.
5.(J.Crew), 6. (Cos via Yoox), 7. (Quince), 8. (Quince)
Tops: I have wanted to add some 100% cotton sweaters to my rotation for more transitional temps. I finally purchased a crew and v-neck from Quince and I think they’re fine but not fabulous. The sleeve length on the crewneck is wild, but at $50 a piece they get the job done. The other two tops, a striped, oversized number and striped l/s tee, are super basic and will be good multi-taskers in the months ahead.
9.(Poshmark- similar), 10. (Cos via Yoox- sold out), 11. (Poshmark), 12. (& Other Stories via Yoox)
Accessories: I mentioned in recent posts that I’ve been ogling and drooling over a Dragon Diffusion bag (the Rosanna! LOVE!!), but sadly they’re just not in my budget. The Italian brand Ellepi has popped up on my internet searches and their gorgeous vintage bags can be found from $25-75 on Ebay, Poshmark, and Etsy. The Cos bag and & Other Stories shoes were final sale (I know, I know) but are easy enough to wear with the rest of my existing wardrobe.
13. (Agolde via Shopbop)
Bottoms: Denim is the one thing that I feel comfortable buying at full price, mostly because I wear them every damn day. These happen to be a fit that I already own, love, and wear to death in a darker wash. They’re soft and don’t hurt my belly when I’m inevitably seated for five hours solid. Winner!
Ooh this was a very fun visual to what you bought and what you are planning to buy. I also blame the change in seasons for my March purchases and I think I want to visually track like you are. Tell us more about your May plans; those A Emery sandals are to die for!
Nothing big planned for May, just searching high and low for a comfortable swimsuit and sandals other than my Birks! Stay tuned!
